History
An editorial in the local newspaper, the Norfolk Daily News, first suggested the idea of creating a comedy festival in Norfolk as a way to pay tribute to the legacy of native son Johnny Carson. The strong, positive response to the editorial spurred Daily News representatives to recruit volunteers for a committee and the planning was under way. In a few short months, the event grew from just a weekend to a week long event. The committee now numbers over 20 dedicated people with one goal in mind, to make this event one of the best in the country and to show our sincere appreciation to Johnny Carson for bringing laughter into countless homes and lives.
